The Florida Keys Law Review Board

The Florida Keys and Key West Law Review

"Our liberty depends on the freedom (of speech,) and that cannot be limited without being lost."

- Thomas Jefferson.

Select Third-year students are eligible to participate in the Florida Keys Law Review membership competition, which is given in the early summer after their second year. The competition consists of an essay and a Bluebook exam and is administered through The Keys Law Review M.A.T.R.I.X infrastructure.

While some members are selected based on their stellar academic performance, all students, regardless of their class standing, must participate in the competition to receive an invitation to join the Florida Keys Law Review.

To maintain the integrity of the selection process, participants’ names are unknown to the selection committee.

Transfer students with four semesters remaining may also participate in a similar competition that is held in the fall.

Once admitted onto the Florida Keys Law Review, members have the primary responsibility of conducting preliminary research edits on articles selected for publication.

Additionally, they spend their first-year writing a Note, or in-depth legal essay, on a topic of their choice. At the end of the spring semester, many of these Notes are selected for publication in an upcoming issue of the Florida Keys Law Review.

Thank you for your interest in the Florida Keys Law Review. Please direct questions about membership to our Executive Notes & Comments Editor. During the spring semester, the Florida Law Review will conduct orientation meetings to answer questions for anyone interested in becoming a member.
